John D Roller
I was born in 1962 at R.A.F. Mildenhall, Suffork, England. My father was in the U.S. Air Force. I received my GED in October of 1980 before going into the U.S. Army of that same year. I served my country for 10.5 years. During my tour of duty, I was an armor crew-member on a M60A1 and the M1 series tanks. Positions included tank driver, loader, gunner, and tank commander. My last 10 months, I moved up to Division Headquarters for 2nd Armored Division (Forward) to serve as a photojournalist. I am a combat veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I currently have 33 photographs on display at the Museum of North Carolina History in Raleigh. When I was honorably discharged from the military, I decided to do the college thing. I spent three years at Wake Technical Community College and earned an Associate of Arts, in which I transferred to North Carolina A&T State University. While at A&T, AggiePride,I earned my Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication Systems Printing and Publishing and a Master of Science in Technology Education. I have been teaching in public education for over 20 years. I look forward to the school year.
